Badrinath Yatra by Helicopter

Badrinath ji is one of the holiest sites in Uttarakhand. It is situated amidst the snowcapped Himalayan peaks and is an absolute bliss for those who want to seek Lord Badri’s blessings. Lord Badri is worshipped here in the form of Lord Vishnu. Situated at around 10,279 feet in height, the Badrinath Temple was established originally by the saint, Adi Shankaracharya. The temple has Lord Vishnu’s black stone idol which is one meter tall and is believed to be one of the eight Swayam Vyakta Kshetras. Badrinath Dham has also been mentioned in the 108 Divya Desams that are dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The Badrinath tour by helicopter allows the devotees who are not physically fit or short on time to undertake the Yatra. The helicopter Yatra will begin from Dehradun and end on the same day after you have visited the Badrinath Temple.

Badrinath Temple houses a Tapt Kund that is believed to have lots of medicinal value. It is believed that River Alaknanda originates from here. The Badri Kedar Festival and Mata Murti Ka Mela are other important reasons to visit the temple.

• Two to three months before the Yatra, passengers should get a full body checkup done to ensure sound health conditions.
• Those who are above 75 kg will have to pay overweight charges as the helicopter flies at very high altitudes, where the aircraft’s weight carrying capacity is only 420 kg. At INR 1,500 per Kg overweight charges are applicable. A day before the Yatra this will be decided. However, if the 6 passengers' overall weight does not exceed 420 Kg, no extra charge needs to be paid for overweight passengers.
• Badrinath experiences very cold weather during the night. You should carry heavy woolen clothing such as shawls, jackets, sweaters, and accessories like socks, mufflers, and woolen gloves.
• In one helicopter, a maximum of five to six passengers can be accommodated at one time.
• On your travel date, timings may differ. Timings that have been mentioned are tentative for understanding the operational system. At the last moment, things can be changed due to any weather, operational changes, illness of flying crew, valley flying by Indian Air Force, clearance from Civil Aviation & Air Force, sudden occurrence of technical snag, VVIP movements, and the guests delayed positioning at the helipads.
